How justjocelynthings Was Created
From a Funny Finsta to Something Bigger
In high school, I created a finsta—a “fake Instagram” where people typically post unfiltered, behind-the-scenes content. Except… I thought finsta meant funny Instagram, so I ran with it. I started posting goofy videos, thinking it was just my little world. But somehow, JustJocelynThings gained a following across the South Shore, and people actually enjoyed the randomness of it.
At the time, I truly believed no one else could relate to what I was going through. My world was just Jocelyn’s world, and I didn’t think anyone could ever understand my experiences. I never wanted to fit inside a box—I wanted to do everything, be everything, and be unlike anyone else.
Embracing Creativity, Individuality, and Authenticity
That feeling never changed. I still refuse to fit inside a box. I’ve always been obsessed with creativity, imagination, and the power of authenticity—especially in young minds. Kids are born knowing how to be themselves, but the world tries to shrink them into something smaller, something “acceptable.” I want to change that.
Through neuroscience, storytelling, and holistic wellness, I’ve learned that the things we go through—the hard stuff, the moments that break us—aren’t meant to keep us stuck. They’re meant to shape us. And even though our experiences feel personal, so many of us share the same struggles—we just don’t talk about them enough.
A Space for Real Stories & Growth
So here I am, turning JustJocelynThings into something bigger than just me. A space where I can share what I’ve learned—through both research and life experience—about overcoming the impossible, healing from what breaks you, and embracing the power of creativity, storytelling, and self-expression.
Because at the end of the day, being authentically you is the most powerful thing you can be.
Let’s Talk
